Role Overview
This role is critical in ensuring accurate financial governance, alignment with PSC obligations,
and adherence to Malaysian regulatory frameworks. The Senior Accountant will act as a key
link between internal finance teams, external auditors, and regulatory bodies.
Key Responsibilities
● Lead preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance
with IFRS/MFRS.
● Manage PSC accounting and reporting, including cost recovery submissions and
alignment with regulatory bodies.
● Oversee joint venture accounting, partner billings, and cash call management.
● Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, and regulators to ensure compliance with
statutory requirements.
● Ensure timely submission of PETRONAS reporting and PSC audit packages.
● Monitor internal controls, identify gaps, and propose improvements.
Supervise and mentor junior accountants, ensuring accuracy and efficiency of daily
transactions.
● Support finance leadership in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
Requirements
● Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; professional qualifications (ACCA, CPA,
ICAEW, MICPA) preferred.
● 10–15 years of experience in accounting, with at least 5 years in upstream oil & gas.
● Strong knowledge of PSC accounting, JV arrangements, and petroleum cost recovery
mechanisms.
● Solid understanding of Malaysian financial reporting standards, tax, and regulatory
compliance.
● Proven track record in managing audits and working with external regulators.
● Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
● Advanced knowledge of ERP/accounting systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar).
