Job Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced Marine Systems Engineer to support a critical FPSO project with a leading engineering consultancy. Based onsite in Singapore, this role requires a seasoned professional with a strong background in steam systems and marine systems engineering. The successful candidate will take ownership of system design activities from concept to detailed engineering.
Job Responsibilities
- Conduct surveys and assessments of marine systems (fire & safety, bilge and ballast, fuel oil, lube oil, air, seawater, and freshwater cooling systems).
- Develop engineering plans, including P&IDs, equipment and material specifications, and related deliverables for the MOPU conversion.
- Provide technical solutions and troubleshoot issues in real-time.
- Supervise shipyard activities, including fabrication, installation, commissioning, and testing of marine systems.
- Coordinate with client suppliers, contractors, Classification Societies, and shipyards.
- Attend inspections and testing to ensure compliance with Class and quality requirements.
- Prepare and deliver progress reports on schedule, challenges, and action plans to the Project Manager and client.
- Act as a client representative to ensure technical requirements, standards, and project objectives are met.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in the design and upgrading of marine systems (piping, mechanical, fire & safety), ideally in offshore projects.
- Minimum 2 years of shipyard supervision experience.
- Strong familiarity with the MOPU Code.
- Experience liaising with Classification Societies and acting as a client representative.
- Excellent written and verbal English; proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia is an advantage.
- Available to start immediately and commit to onsite presence in Singapore.
