About the Role
The Operations Manager is to lead and optimize offshore upstream operations. This role is critical to maintaining production efficiency, ensuring operational readiness, and delivering safe, cost-effective performance across FPSOs, platforms, and late-life assets.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage daily production operations for offshore assets, including FPSOs and WHPs, ensuring high uptime and compliance with regulatory and safety standards.
- Deliver operational readiness for greenfield and brownfield projects, including commissioning, startup, and transition support.
- Direct Operations Readiness Assurance (ORA) activities and asset optimization strategies, with a track record of seamless PSC operatorship transitions.
- Oversee production enhancement initiatives such as Gas Lift Optimization, Electrical Submersible Pumps (ESP), and Surface Jet Pumps.
- Lead HAZOP, HAZID, SIMOPS, and Management of Change (MOC) processes across facilities, ensuring technical integrity and safety compliance.
- Apply innovative technologies and lead technical problem-solving, including successful implementation of Smart Plug isolation systems and offshore fiber-optic connectivity solutions.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including PETRONAS, PSC partners, and regulatory bodies, ensuring project alignment and operational excellence.
- Supervise integrated operations teams and emergency response planning, contributing to continuous performance improvements and safety leadership.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
- Minimum of 12 years’ experience in upstream oil & gas operations, with a proven track record in managing offshore production assets.
- Strong background in leading turnaround campaigns, production enhancement, and late-life asset strategies.
- Demonstrated success in managing FPSO, FSO, centralized platforms, and wellhead operations.
- Experience in operatorship transfers, commissioning, and field handovers involving PETRONAS and international partners. Expertise in HAZOP, HAZID, SIMOPS, and MOC implementation.
- Strong technical knowledge of EPCIC deliverables, P&ID reviews, and performance monitoring.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in SAP ECC6, Primavera P6, and CMMS platforms such as Cworks, VMOS.
