Job Purpose
The Senior Process Engineer is responsible for leading process engineering activities throughout the project lifecycle, from concept and FEED through detailed engineering, construction support, commissioning, and start-up. The role requires providing technical leadership, ensuring compliance with project requirements and industry standards, and delivering safe, efficient, and cost-effective engineering solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Process Engineering
- Lead process engineering design and execution for onshore and offshore oil & gas, energy, petrochemical, or industrial projects.
- Prepare and review process engineering deliverables, including:
- Process Design Basis
- Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs)
- Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)
- Heat & Material Balances
- Utility Consumption Calculations
- Equipment Datasheets
- Operating Philosophies
- Cause & Effect Diagrams
- Perform process simulations using Aspen HYSYS, Aspen Plus, or equivalent software.
- Conduct equipment sizing calculations for vessels, separators, heat exchangers, pumps, compressors, relief valves, and associated process systems.
- Review and approve vendor documents and technical submissions.
Technical Leadership
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
- Serve as the discipline focal point for process engineering matters.
- Coordinate closely with Mechanical, Piping, Instrumentation, Electrical, Structural, and Project Engineering teams.
- Participate in design reviews and interdisciplinary engineering workshops.
Process Safety
- Lead and participate in process safety studies including:
- HAZID
- HAZOP
- SIL Assessment
- LOPA
- Constructability Reviews
- Ensure designs comply with applicable industry codes, standards, and project specifications.
- Support process safety management and risk mitigation activities.
Project Execution
- Support project planning, scheduling, and resource estimation activities.
- Monitor engineering progress and identify technical risks and mitigation measures.
- Interface with clients, consultants, vendors, and third-party stakeholders.
- Support commissioning, start-up, troubleshooting, and operational readiness activities where required.
Requirements
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering or related engineering discipline.
- Professional Engineer certification is an added advantage.
Experience
- 8 - 10 years of relevant process engineering experience within Oil & Gas, Energy, Petrochemical, LNG, FPSO, FLNG, or EPC industries.
- Proven experience in FEED, Detailed Engineering, EPC, EPCIC, or Brownfield projects.
- Experience working on offshore production facilities, process packages, or energy infrastructure projects is preferred.
