Role Overview
You’ll support the Barge Master in managing marine operations for a jack-up rig, focusing on jacking, rig moves, ballast control, and overall marine stability. You’ll also act as the second point of contact during emergencies, ensuring marine safety and compliance with offshore standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in jacking, rig move prep, preload ops, and rig positioning
- Operate ballast control systems and support rig stability
- Perform daily marine checks, weather/sea condition monitoring
- Coordinate deck cargo operations, manage deck space/loading
- Supervise deck crew (roustabouts, crane ops) during rig and supply ops
- Prepare cargo manifests and vessel movement reports
- Support in marine drills (lifeboat/fire/etc.) and inspections
- Maintain ballast pumps, jacking control units, firefighting systems, and marine equipment
- Keep logs of jacking, rig moves, ballast, and certifications
- Ensure crew follow safety protocols and support in emergency response
Requirements
- Certifications: Valid STCW, BOSIET with CA-EBS, Petronas & Marine Medical, Basic H2S OPITO
- Mandatory: MODU Master Certified
- 5–7 years’ marine experience (preferably offshore)
- Familiar with rig manuals and basic knowledge of onboard marine systems
- Proficient in marine ops software (ballast, weather, rig positioning)
- Valid HUET/BOSIET and offshore medical
