Job Overview:
Seeking a Rotating Equipment Engineer to support offshore and onshore oil and gas projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the selection, design, specification, and procurement of rotating equipment such as pumps, compressors, turbines, and fans. This role requires expertise in engineering principles, international standards, and project execution for the oil and gas industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, select, and specify rotating equipment for offshore and onshore facilities.
- Perform technical evaluations and feasibility studies for rotating machinery.
- Prepare equipment specifications, datasheets, and requisition packages.
- Review and approve vendor documents, drawings, and technical proposals.
- Ensure compliance with industry codes and standards such as API, ASME, and ISO.
- Conduct technical bid evaluations and coordinate with procurement teams.
- Provide support during fabrication, testing, installation, and commissioning phases.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure project requirements are met.
- Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues related to rotating equipment.
- Ensure adherence to project schedules and budgets.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Strong knowledge of API standards (e.g., API 610, API 617, API 618, API 619, API 673, API 682).
- Experience with rotating equipment selection, design, and performance analysis.
- Proficiency in engineering software tools such as ANSYS, Bentley AutoPIPE, or similar.
- Familiarity with industry codes such as ASME, ISO, and NACE.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Experience with offshore projects and FPSO systems is an advantage.
- Experience working with EPC contractors and engineering consultants.
