Job Summary


We are seeking a highly experienced Lead/Specialist Mechanical Engineer to join our client team for an FPSO Suriname project. This role involves overseeing mechanical engineering aspects of the project, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and delivering innovative solutions for the oil and gas sector. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in FPSO and offshore projects and demonstrate strong leadership and technical skills.


Job Responsibilities


  • Lead the mechanical engineering team in the design, development, and implementation of FPSO systems.
  • Provide technical expertise and support for mechanical systems, including piping, rotating equipment, and HVAC.
  • Ensure all engineering activities comply with industry standards, regulations, and client specifications.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure project milestones and deadlines are met.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of mechanical designs and calculations to ensure accuracy and feasibility.
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with mechanical engineering activities.
  • Support procurement activities by reviewing technical specifications and vendor documentation.
  • Participate in project planning, scheduling, and budgeting processes.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
  • Prepare and present technical reports and documentation to clients and stakeholders.


Job Requirements


  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • 11-15 years of relevant experience in FPSO, offshore, and oil and gas projects.
  • Proven experience in leading mechanical engineering teams on large-scale projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of mechanical systems used in FPSO operations, including piping, rotating equipment, and HVAC.
  • Strong understanding of industry standards, codes, and regulations related to mechanical engineering in the oil and gas sector.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to innovate and implement effective solutions.
  • Proficiency in engineering software and tools used in mechanical design and analysis.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, for the duration of the 1-year contract.
