Lead and manage the multi-disciplinary engineering team for the SEPAT FPSO project, covering hull, topside, marine, structural, piping, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and process disciplines.
Serve as the primary interface between PMT, client representatives (PETRONAS/partners), EPC contractor, and classification societies, ensuring alignment of engineering deliverables with project objectives.
Oversee and direct all design and engineering activities throughout the FEED, detailed design, conversion, and fabrication phases.
Ensure that all engineering deliverables meet the project’s schedule, budget, safety, and quality requirements, with strict adherence to international standards (API, ASME, ABS, DNV, IEC).
Drive design reviews (HAZID, HAZOP, 3D model reviews, constructability reviews, safety-in-design) and close out action items with accountability.
Manage the resolution of technical queries, deviations, and non-conformances raised during the design and fabrication stages.
Support procurement and package engineering teams in technical evaluations, vendor document reviews, and FAT/SAT witness.
Ensure full compliance with local Malaysian regulations (PETRONAS standards, DOSH, OGSP) and FPSO-specific safety requirements.
Mentor, coach, and develop junior engineers in the PMT team to build internal capability.
Provide technical leadership during construction, integration, commissioning, and start-up support phases to ensure seamless transition from engineering to execution.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Marine, or related discipline).
15–20 years’ experience in Oil & Gas, with at least 10 years in FPSO/EPCI projects.
Must have held an Engineering Manager position on at least two FPSO projects, preferably covering both conversion and newbuild scopes.
Proven track record in engineering management, project planning, design review, and execution for offshore oil & gas facilities.
Strong technical knowledge of FPSO topside process systems, hull/marine systems, safety systems (ICSS, ESD, FGS), and structural design integration.
Demonstrated ability to organise, coordinate, and direct engineering teams and contractors under tight project schedules.
Excellent knowledge of international codes and standards (API, ASME, ASTM, DNV, ABS, IEC).
Familiarity with Petronas PPS, OGSP requirements, and Malaysian regulatory frameworks.
Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, capable of leading cross-functional teams and aligning multiple stakeholders.
