This role is for a Senior Geologist within the Exploration Department, reporting to then Lead Geology. This position does not have any direct subordinates. The primary objective of this role is to contribute to the organization's exploration activities, focusing on geological data management, well log data quality control, and geological and geophysical data interpretation.
Key responsibilities include:
• Taking a major role in geological data management, well log data QC, and geological and geophysical data interpretation.
• Playing a key role in regional geological and petroleum system interpretation.
• Supporting the establishment of an efficient exploration database by managing well and geological data.
• Conducting petrophysical quality control and post-mortem analysis of existing wells.
• Reviewing and updating resource assessments of discovered fields.
• Leading petroleum system evaluation and basin petroleum system modeling.
• Performing geological and geophysical data interpretation and prospect evaluation, incorporating all G&G data.
• Cooperating with the Exploration and Operations teams to produce exploration drilling plans.
• Supporting G&G studies, well proposals, and post-well studies.
• Assisting with G&G evaluation for new venture opportunities.
• Providing necessary training to trainees.
Candidates should possess strong skills in geological interpretation, data management, and a collaborative approach to working within multidisciplinary teams and with external partners.
