Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Fluid Engineer to support our upcoming drilling campaigns. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, planning, and executing drilling fluid programs that ensure well integrity, safety, and cost-efficiency. This is a short-term contract role with strong potential for extension depending on operational requirements and performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and optimize drilling fluid programs tailored to specific well and formation conditions.
- Monitor and manage drilling fluid properties and performance during operations.
- Coordinate with the drilling and subsurface teams to align fluid systems with well objectives.
- Supervise and support mud engineers and contractors at the rig site.
- Ensure fluid systems comply with HSE standards and local regulatory requirements.
- Troubleshoot fluid-related issues during drilling operations and propose timely solutions.
- Prepare end-of-well reports and maintain accurate records of fluid performance and usage.
- Liaise with vendors and third parties for fluid materials, tools, and services.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in drilling fluid engineering in the oil & gas industry.
- Proven track record of managing fluid systems in offshore and/or onshore drilling environments.
- Strong knowledge of water-based and oil-based mud systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make quick decisions under pressure.
- Familiarity with HSE regulations and standards related to fluid handling and disposal.
- Good communication and reporting skills.
- Available for immediate mobilization.
