JOB SUMMARY:
The Piping Engineer will play a key role in an onshore project in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, focusing on piping engineering with a specialization in pipe stress analysis. The ideal candidate will have at least 7 years of relevant experience in the energy industry.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop piping specifications, standards, and procedures for the project.
- Conduct pipe stress analysis using industry-standard software and techniques.
- Design and layout piping systems, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and regulations.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate piping systems into overall project designs.
- Review and approve piping drawings, isometrics, and material specifications.
- Perform site visits and inspections to ensure piping installations meet design requirements and quality standards.
- Provide technical support and guidance to junior engineers and project team members.
- Participate in project meetings and communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure project milestones are met.
- Identify and resolve technical issues related to piping systems during project execution.
- Prepare technical documentation, including reports, calculations, and presentations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 6 years of experience in piping engineering, with a focus on pipe stress analysis.
- Proficiency in pipe stress analysis software such as Caesar II or ANSYS.
- Strong understanding of piping codes and standards (e.g., ASME B31.3, API 570).
- Experience in the energy industry, preferably with onshore projects.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Familiarity with project management principles and practices.
- Willingness to travel to project sites when necessary.
- Professional certification or licensure in piping engineering is a plus.
