Job Summary:
The Senior Process Safety Engineer will lead process safety activities during the Concept Development and Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) phases of LNG projects in Singapore. The role involves ensuring safety integration into early-stage designs, addressing LNG-specific risks, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to develop safe, compliant, and efficient design solutions.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead process safety activities during Concept Development and FEED for LNG projects.
- Conduct Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) including HAZID, HAZOP, and What-If studies.
- Perform Quantitative Risk Assessments (QRA), Cryogenic Spill Analysis, and Vapor Dispersion Modeling.
- Ensure compliance with local and international safety standards (e.g., WSH Act, NFPA 59A, IEC 61511).
- Develop safety philosophies, criteria, and safety system designs specific to LNG operations.
- Review and integrate safety requirements into LNG facility layouts, equipment, and safety systems.
- Prepare and submit safety documentation for regulatory approvals and client requirements.
- Interface with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure safety objectives are met.
- Maintain the project risk register and participate in safety reviews and design reviews.
- Mentor junior engineers and conduct training sessions on LNG process safety principles.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related field; Master’s preferred.
- 8-10 years of experience in process safety engineering, with expertise in LNG projects.
- Proven experience in Concept Development and FEED for LNG facilities (liquefaction, storage, regasification).
- Strong knowledge of LNG process safety standards (e.g., ISO 16903, NFPA 59A, API standards).
- Proficiency in process safety analysis tools (e.g., PHA-Pro, PHAST, BowTie XP).
- Excellent communication, presentation, and leadership skills.
- Certified Process Safety Professional (CPSP) or equivalent preferred; additional safety certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH) are advantageous.
