Role Overview
Seeking a Lead Process Engineer to drive both technical delivery and team leadership for downstream oil & gas projects. This role combines process design expertise, team management, and project execution control, including involvement in proposals and client coordination.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of engineers and draftsmen within process discipline
- Oversee project execution, productivity, and budget (manhours, overtime, efficiency)
- Develop and review key deliverables: PFDs, P&IDs, simulations, process calculations
- Perform process simulation and hydraulic analysis (HYSYS, UniSim, Pipenet, AFT tools)
- Support proposal preparation, manhour estimation, and change orders
- Act as technical focal point with clients, including presentations and issue resolution
- Ensure coordination across disciplines (Mechanical, Piping, Instrumentation, Electrical)
- Lead staff development, training, and technical capability building
- Participate in process safety activities (HAZOP, flare analysis, hydraulic studies)
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent
- Minimum 10+ years in oil & gas process engineering
- At least 5 years in Senior/Lead role managing teams
- Strong experience in downstream/refinery or petrochemical projects
- Proven experience in FEED and EPC phases
- Hands-on expertise in:
- Process simulation: HYSYS / UniSim
- Hydraulic tools: Pipenet, AFT Fathom, AFT Arrow
- Flare analysis: FlareSim / FlareNet
- Strong knowledge of process safety standards and industry codes
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in commissioning / plant operations
- Exposure to brownfield revamp projects
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills
