Scope of Work

Job Purpose:

The Senior Material Corrosion Engineer is responsible for providing expert technical input on metallurgy and corrosion issues to support project execution. The role involves liaising with the project team, ensuring compliance with client specifications, and delivering high-quality corrosion and material engineering solutions.


Key Responsibilities:

Project Coordination & Technical Support:

  • Liaise with the Project Team on all corrosion & metallurgy-related activities at the project level.
  • Ensure compliance with contract requirements, scope of work, and client technical specifications.
  • Deliver high-quality design outputs as per project requirements and schedule.
  • Participate in internal and client meetings at the project level.
  • Provide expert advice on metallurgy and corrosion to support project execution.
  • Support technical proposals, bid evaluations, and other inter-discipline technical support needs.


Technical Responsibilities:

  • Perform CO₂ Corrosion Evaluations using industry-standard tools (e.g., CORPLUS, NORSOK M506, Hydrocorr, ECE).
  • Prepare corrosion assessments and material selection reports for offshore and onshore facilities, including petrochemical plants, refineries, and offshore processing facilities.
  • Develop and deliver key technical documents, including:
  • Material Selection & Corrosion Control Report
  • Material Selection & Corrosion Control Philosophy / Corrosion Design Basis Memorandum (CDBM)
  • Internal Corrosion Monitoring Specification
  • Protective Coating & Painting Specification
  • Thermal & Cold Insulation Specification
  • Cathodic Protection Strategy
  • Review and check deliverables prepared by Metallurgy & Corrosion Engineers to ensure quality.
  • Review vendor documents and provide technical support as needed.
  • Support regional offices on metallurgy and corrosion issues.
  • Perform any additional functions assigned by the Material & Corrosion Section Head.


Must Have:

  • Minimum 5 to 10 years of working experience in Material & Corrosion Engineering for Oil & Gas and Petrochemical fields, preferably in EPC projects.
