Project Manager – Decommissioning Options Assessment (DOA)
Engagement: Part-time (3–4 months)
Role Summary
To lead a Decommissioning Options Assessment (DOA) for an offshore oil and gas asset in Malaysia. The role focuses on study-phase project leadership, covering technical coordination, schedule control, and client-facing delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning and execution of the DOA study in line with agreed scope, schedule, and quality requirements
- Coordinate multi-disciplinary technical inputs including structural, marine, cost, and environmental contributions
- Manage study interfaces and ensure alignment across all technical deliverables
- Review and challenge assumptions, methodologies, and option development
- Ensure compliance with applicable decommissioning regulations and guidelines
- Interface with client technical stakeholders and manage reporting requirements
- Deliver high-quality DOA reports, option evaluations, and recommendations
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science
- Minimum 15 years of offshore oil and gas experience
- Minimum 5 years in a project management or technical lead role
- Demonstrated experience leading or delivering Decommissioning Options Assessments
- Experience in at least one T&I or decommissioning-related project
- Strong knowledge of offshore decommissioning practices and regulatory frameworks
- Fluent in written and spoken English
Preferred Experience
- Background in offshore engineering or technical consultancy environments
- Experience in study-phase, concept select, or FEED-level projects
- Exposure to late-life asset management or decommissioning planning
