Senior Process Engineer (Hydrogen/Ammonia)

Scope of Work

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop process design deliverables including PFDs, P&IDs, process datasheets, and equipment specifications for Hydrogen and Ammonia production facilities.
  • Perform process simulations using software such as Aspen Plus or similar tools to optimize process performance and efficiency.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation engineers to integrate process design with overall plant design.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, client specifications, and regulatory requirements throughout all project phases.
  • Participate in design reviews, HAZOP studies, and other safety and operability reviews to identify and resolve process design issues.
  • Support procurement activities by preparing technical bid evaluations, reviewing vendor documents, and participating in vendor meetings.
  • Provide technical support during construction, commissioning, and start-up phases to ensure successful project execution.


Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 5 to 10 years of experience in process engineering, with a focus on Hydrogen and Ammonia production projects.
  • Strong proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS).
  • Knowledge of international codes and standards relevant to chemical process industries.
  • Experience in leading process engineering activities through detailed design, construction, and commissioning phases.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Willingness to relocate to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, if not already based there, for the duration of the assignment.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks to meet project deadlines effectively.
