IT & Data Management Executive

Job Objectives

• Manage exploration-related documents, datasets, and IT/database systems within the Exploration Department.
• Provide mapping, data management, and software support to the exploration team.
• Act as the focal point for exploration data coordination with partners and relevant authorities.

Major Duties & Responsibilities

• Manage exploration-related data and documents, including well and seismic data, maps, samples, and technical reports.
• Establish, maintain, and update the exploration database and GIS-based systems, ensuring accurate technical document control.
• Conduct mapping, drawing, and basic data analysis to support exploration activities.
• Support exploration staff in preparing datasets and documents such as well proposals, drilling plans, and annual reports.
• Coordinate and manage technical IT software and licences — including procurement, contract renewal, and technical support.
• Prepare datasets for sharing with HQ, partners, or third parties as required.
• Act as focal point for technical datasets, GIS systems, and data exchange with partners, data vendors, and internal IT.
• Collaborate closely with IT and data security teams to ensure data integrity and compliance.

Reporting Line

• Reports to: Head of Exploration / Senior Geoscientist / Senior Analyst

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Geoscience, Geology, Geophysics, Geoinformatics, Information Technology, or related field.
• Minimum 2-10 IT & Data Management Executive years’ experience in exploration or subsurface data management.
• Proficiency in GIS data management and ArcGIS is essential.
• Familiar with well, seismic, and geological data workflows in an exploration environment.
• Experience with data management systems (e.g., Petrel, OpenWorks, Kingdom, Recall) and document control processes.
• Strong coordination skills for interfacing with internal users, IT teams, and external partners.
• Knowledge of data governance, quality control, and technical documentation practices.
