We are seeking an experienced Lead Rotating Equipment Engineer to support a major offshore energy project. This is a short-term role requiring strong technical leadership in rotating machinery design, procurement, and commissioning support.
Assignment Details
- Position: Lead Rotating Equipment Engineer
- Location: China (project office/site)
- Duration: 4 months
- Visa & Support: All visa arrangements, travel, and local support will be provided
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate engineering activities for rotating equipment (compressors, pumps, turbines, blowers, motors, gearboxes, etc.)
- Review and approve technical documents, datasheets, and vendor packages
- Provide technical input across FEED, detailed design, procurement, installation, and commissioning phases
- Ensure compliance with relevant standards (API, ISO, ASME) and project specifications
- Act as focal point for vendor and EPC contractor technical clarifications
- Support FAT, SAT, and performance testing of major rotating packages
- Collaborate with process, mechanical, piping, and electrical teams to resolve interface issues
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- Minimum 12–15 years’ experience in rotating equipment engineering
- Proven track record in lead or senior roles on offshore oil & gas / refinery / petrochemical projects
- Strong knowledge of API 610, API 617, API 618, and other relevant standards
- Experience with vendor management and package engineering
- Excellent leadership, coordination, and communication skills
- Ability to mobilise on short notice for international assignment
