Chief Mechanic

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the mechanical maintenance team to ensure optimal equipment performance.
• Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical failures in drilling and production equipment.
• Develop preventive and predictive maintenance programs for mechanical systems.
• Ensure compliance with industry safety standards and company policies.
• Maintain records of mechanical repairs, maintenance schedules, and equipment logs.
• Coordinate with the operations team to minimize equipment downtime.
• Supervise procurement and inventory management of spare parts and tools.
• Provide technical guidance and training to junior mechanics and technicians.

Requirements

• Experience: Minimum 8-15 years in mechanical maintenance in oil and gas projects.
• Education: Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Certifications: (If applicable) BOSIET, HUET, or other offshore safety certifications.
• Skills: Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems, diesel engines, and rotating equipment.
• Software: (Specify if any CMMS or diagnostic software is required).
• Additional: Prior experience in offshore or onshore drilling operations is a plus.
