Job Summary
Our client is looking for a Technical Safety Engineer to support a short-term assignment on an Extended Pre-FEED Floating Carbon Storage and Injection Unit (FCSIU) project. The role involves developing and reviewing technical safety deliverables, supporting risk workshops, and ensuring alignment with regulatory and company requirements. Immediate availability is essential.
Job Responsibilities
- Support Technical Safety & Assurance team on FCSIU Pre-FEED project
- Develop technical safety/loss prevention deliverables (HSSE & F&G philosophies, HAC & toxic area layouts, SEMP, FCP)
- Assist in reviewing third-party safety study reports (RAM, FEHA)
- Participate in and provide input during risk workshops (HAZOP, HAZID, CRA)
- Ensure quality and compliance of all deliverables with project and procedural standards
- Manage assigned tasks with accountability under guidance of Lead/Senior Engineer
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s in chemical, mechanical, or relevant engineering discipline
- Registered with Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM)
- Minimum 3 years' experience in upstream oil & gas projects with hands-on technical safety work
- Experience with CCS, cryogenic, or low-temperature service projects is an advantage
- Knowledge of international standards (IMO, UK HSE, API, ISO, NFPA, etc.) and Class rules
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe software
- Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills
- Able to work independently with a proactive, flexible attitude
- Available to start immediately in Kuala Lumpur
