I am a community development and community relations professional with experience in the oil and gas sector, supporting upstream exploration and operational activities through effective stakeholder engagement and social performance management. Currently, I serve as a community development officer supporting field operations, where I work closely with local governments, village leaders, indigenous communities, and civil society organizations to ensure constructive relationships between the company and surrounding communities.
My role involves conducting stakeholder mapping, facilitating community consultations, and managing social risks related to operational activities such as exploration drilling, seismic surveys, and infrastructure development. I focus on ensuring transparent communication, building trust with communities, and supporting the company in maintaining its social license to operate.
I have experience identifying potential social issues, coordinating conflict mitigation strategies, and collaborating with internal teams such as HSE, security, and operations to ensure that community concerns are addressed in a timely and responsible manner. In addition, I design and implement community empowerment programs aligned with sustainable development goals while ensuring that initiatives complement government programs and respond to local community needs.
Working in field-based environments has strengthened my ability to manage complex stakeholder dynamics, lead community engagement processes, and deliver structured reporting to support strategic decision-making.
