Consulting Resume of William (Bill) Barry Thirty years of engineering experience gained in the maritime, shipbuilding, renewables, and subsea industry. Over the past 16 years I have been an independent consultant. My clients have hired me as the engineering client representative at various manufacturers and EPCs; acting technical authority and assistant PM, reviewing and approving documents from FEED, design, manufacturing issues, FAT/SIT testing and commissioning; and provide independent system design and standards for greenfield and brownfield subsea and hydrogen mobility infrastructure projects globally. My subsea specialties lie in umbilical and subsea distribution systems, which include supporting controls, XT's, manifolds, and HIPPS interfaces. I have an extensive portfolio and track record of supporting more than 150 projects with a direct responsibility totaling greater than 1.5 billion USD. Projects ranging from small R&D test acceptance programs to large-scale greenfield system designs and on-site fabrication support for ultra-deep-water developments. My work has spanned across diverse regions, including the Gulf of Mexico, Trinidad & Tobago, Brazil, Malaysia, and Nigeria. I have consulted Shell, Chevron, BP, Bechtel, and Technip FMC. In addition to my project management and engineering support capabilities, I possess a wide range of skills and expertise, including: • Conducting feasibility studies for subsea distribution infield optimization • Designing subsea distribution systems and field layouts • Sizing umbilicals for efficient chemical deliverability • Developing client specifications, such as Global Functional Specifications • Having a working knowledge of industry specifications, including API, ISO, DNV, ISA, USCG, ASME, CFR, and IEEE • Providing support and troubleshooting for asset/surveillance offshore issues • Performing Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) • Reviewing and approving engineering drawings, procedures, quality, and calculations • Developing equipment sparing strategies • Reviewing and approving final manufacturing record books • Offering design review support • Representing clients on-site as a dedicated site representative • Moreover, I contributed to the advancement of industry standards for the API-17G2 Subsea Pumping Systems Advisory Board (Controls & Umbilicals), Shell design engineering practices modifications and developed standard subsea logic for various field sizes.
