Job Summary:

The Senior Process Engineer will play a pivotal role in the project based in Kuala Lumpur, leveraging their extensive expertise in process engineering within the energy sector. Responsible for overseeing and optimizing process systems, the incumbent will contribute to the efficient operation and performance of the unit.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the process engineering aspects of the project, ensuring adherence to industry standards, regulations, and project specifications.
  • Develop and review process design documents including PFDs, P&IDs, process datasheets, and equipment specifications.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate process systems with other disciplines such as mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation.
  • Conduct process simulations, optimization studies, and troubleshooting to enhance operational efficiency and resolve technical issues.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering their professional development within the team.
  • Participate in HAZOP, HAZID, and other safety reviews to identify and mitigate process-related hazards and risks.
  • Interface with clients, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure alignment of project deliverables with expectations and requirements.
  • Support procurement activities by evaluating bids, conducting technical evaluations, and reviewing vendor documentation.
  • Contribute to commissioning and start-up activities, ensuring smooth transition from engineering to operations phase.
  • Continuously monitor process performance, analyze operational data, and propose improvements to enhance reliability and productivity.


Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in process engineering within the energy industry, with a focus on offshore projects.
  • Proven track record in leading process engineering activities for projects from concept to completion.
  • In-depth knowledge of process simulation software such as Aspen HYSYS or similar tools.
  • Strong understanding of international codes and standards relevant to offshore process systems (e.g., API, ASME, ISO).
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities with experience in mentoring and guiding junior engineers.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities effectively.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to project sites and vendor locations as required.
