Job Summary:
The Senior Mechanical Engineer will oversee mechanical engineering activities for our FLNG project, initially stationed in Jakarta with eventual travel to Papua. This pivotal role demands a seasoned professional with expertise in mechanical engineering within the energy sector.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage all mechanical engineering aspects of the FLNG project, ensuring compliance with project objectives, timelines, and quality standards.
- Develop and review mechanical designs, specifications, and calculations for equipment and systems, including but not limited to piping, pressure vessels, and machinery.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to integrate mechanical systems with other project elements, such as electrical, instrumentation, and structural components.
- Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments to identify potential mechanical engineering challenges and provide innovative solutions to mitigate risks.
- Oversee procurement activities related to mechanical equipment and materials, ensuring adherence to project requirements and budget constraints.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior mechanical engineers and support staff, fostering their professional development within the team.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor mechanical installation, commissioning, and maintenance activities, ensuring compliance with engineering standards and safety protocols.
- Act as a key liaison between the project team, clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities on all mechanical engineering matters.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in mechanical engineering within the energy industry, with a focus on oil and gas projects, preferably including FLNG.
- Proficiency in engineering design software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar tools.
- Strong knowledge of international mechanical engineering codes, standards, and best practices, including ASME, API, and ISO requirements.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to effectively prioritize tasks, allocate resources, and manage competing priorities to meet project deadlines.
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities, with a track record of successfully resolving complex technical issues in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Willingness to travel and work in remote or offshore locations for extended periods, as required by project demands.
- Professional engineering license or certification is highly desirable.
