Scope of Work

• The selected engineer will join a multidisciplinary engineering team handling HVAC system modifications and new designs across oil & gas infrastructure. Responsibilities include:
• Designing and modifying HVAC systems for offshore and onshore facilities (MCC/Control Rooms, Telecom, Electrical Rooms)
• Performing HVAC load calculations and equipment sizing using standard methods (ASHRAE)
• Generating and reviewing HVAC deliverables: layout drawings, ducting routing, HVAC D&ID, BOQ, equipment specs
• Participating in technical clarifications, design reviews, and client meetings
• Ensuring compliance with PETRONAS Technical Standards (PTS), ASHRAE, and other project-specific codes
• Coordinating across disciplines (electrical, mechanical, civil/structural, instrumentation)
• Providing office-based support to construction/commissioning teams when needed

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• Minimum 5–10 years HVAC experience in oil & gas projects (FPSO, CPP, WHP, petrochemical, or gas terminals)
• Strong familiarity with offshore HVAC systems (positive pressure systems, redundancy, explosion-proof zones)
• Proficient in AutoCAD, HAP, and HVAC system simulation software
• Hands-on experience with generating HVAC documents: equipment datasheets, D&IDs, duct/piping layout, MTO, technical specs
• Prior exposure to brownfield modifications, space-constrained HVAC routing, and system upgrades

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with PETRONAS PTS, Shell DEP, or equivalent oil & gas standards
• Experience supporting HVAC vendor selection and technical bid evaluations
• Exposure to construction/commissioning interface or site query resolution
• Understanding of hazardous area classifications (ATEX/IECEx) and their impact on HVAC design

Develop, maintain, and monitor the project schedule, track progress, identify risks, and recommend schedule optimisation and recovery actions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree (preferably with postgraduate in Planning Management).
• Minimum 15 years total experience, with at least 10 years in project planning for large infrastructure projects.
• Proficiency in scheduling software.

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Provide technical leadership and advisory role to the Production Technology team and broader asset team.
• Drive the technical development, mentorship and performance of the Production Technologist team.
• Act as the technical focal point for production-related projects, studies and field development planning.
• Lead, execute and quality-assure the development of short-term and long-term production forecasts using GAP network models; coach team members towards independent proficiency.
• Lead the technical review and endorsement of well intervention proposals and post-job evaluations.
• Maximize hydrocarbon production through systematic well reviews, network reviews, diagnostics and optimization strategies.
• Evaluate and perform screening economics for new technology applications.
• Oversee monthly well test validation and issuance of production target letters.
• Review and validate well technical potentials, identify underperformance causes, and unlock production enhancement opportunities.
• Identify formation damage and assessment of stimulation requirements. Design well treatment recommendations.
• Manage sand production including design and recommendation of sand production monitoring systems and erosional velocity analysis and optimization.
• Perform well testing (production and injection) design and interpretation.
• Interpret production logs and make recommendations based on the analysis.

EXPERIENCE

• 15+ years of experience in upstream oil and gas, focusing on Production Technology, Petroleum Engineering and Production Operations.
• At least 10 years of experience in a leadership or advisory role in Production Technology.
• Demonstrated experience across both brownfield optimization and greenfield development.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering or related discipline; postgraduate qualification is an advantage.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare and review key process engineering deliverables, including:
• Process simulation reports and heat & material balances
• Equipment datasheets, PFDs, PSFDs, P&IDs, and line lists
• Safety Instrumented Function (SIF) design reports and HP/LP interface studies
• Relief load and utility consumption calculations
• Compressor settle-out studies
• Sizing of pipelines, pumps, separators, scrubbers, relief devices, and hydraulic systems
• Flare system design: radiation, network sizing, and depressurisation analysis
• Operating philosophies and control narratives
• Basis of design documentation
• Provide multidisciplinary process inputs and support for procurement activities, including:
• Interface coordination with marine systems on FPSO topsides
• Input to instrument and piping datasheets
• Development of shutdown logic, C&E matrices, AIV/FIV studies, and alarm/trip settings
• Support in material selection and electrical load lists
• Mechanical equipment specs and operating manual preparation
• Participate in and contribute to:
• 3D model reviews and line walks

REQUIREMENTS

• 5–10 years of offshore oil & gas experience with a focus on process simulation and design for:
• Wellhead platforms
• Fixed process platforms
• FPSO topsides modules and turret mooring systems
• Proficient in simulation tools such as HYSYS, UNISIM, PIPESIM, FLARENET, and PIPENET
• Capable of independently managing projects and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders
• Experienced in safety studies including HAZOP and SIL
• Familiar with international standards (e.g. API, Shell DEP)

Job Title: Naval Architect

Location: Lagos, Nigeria (with periodic travel)

Duration: Long-term mission (48 months)

Key Responsibilities:

• Define technical and operational specifications and performance criteria for electric ferries.
• Prepare Detailed Engineering Design (DED) documentation for the vessels.
• Develop protocols for sea trials, vessel handover, maintenance, and related procedures.
• Provide support in the selection of shipyards for vessel construction.
• Take full responsibility for construction supervision of the electric ferries.
• Support the selection of a Classification Society and monitor the certification process.
• Inspect and approve e-ferry components and equipment, including verifying partial and final construction milestones.
• Attend Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) for key components (e.g., engine, radar).
• Participate in the handover process of the ferries and oversee handover protocols.
• Ensure delivery of ferries is on time, within budget, and meets quality expectations.

Qualifications & Experience Required:

• Education:
• Master’s degree (MSc) in Naval Architecture from an internationally recognized university.
• Professional Experience:
• Minimum 20 years of experience in vessel design and construction supervision.
• Proven expertise in ferry design, ideally including electric ferries (e-ferries).
• Familiarity with working alongside or under the requirements of Classification Societies.
• Experience in developing country environments, especially with internationally funded (IFI) projects, is preferred.

Job Title: Ferry Operations Specialist

Location: Lagos, Nigeria (with periodic travel)

Duration: Long-term mission (48 months)

Key Responsibilities:

• Update the Ferry Operations Plan (FOP) for the local urban transport network, including maintenance aspects.
• Develop and establish Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for ferry operations.
• Design and implement a Vessel Industry Transition Project (VITP) aimed at improving fleet operations.
• Support the start-up and implementation of ferry transport operations.

Qualifications & Experience Required:

• Education:
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline from an internationally recognized university or institute.
• Professional Experience:
• Minimum 15 years of experience in transport operations planning, preferably within the ferry or maritime sector.
• At least 5 years of hands-on experience managing or supporting high-capacity ferry operations.
• Previous involvement in projects in developing countries, especially those funded by international financial institutions (IFIs), is preferred.

Job Title: Senior Project Manager / Team Leader

Location: Lagos, Nigeria (with periodic travel)

Key Responsibilities:

• Take full responsibility for ensuring project outputs are delivered with high quality, on schedule, and within budget.
• Lead and manage a multidisciplinary project team throughout the mission duration.
• Serve as the primary liaison for local authorities, development finance institutions, and consulting partners.
• Coordinate communication and alignment across all involved stakeholder groups.
• Deliver regular progress reporting to public agencies, funders, and relevant parties.
• Oversee institutional strengthening and capacity-building efforts for local transport authorities.

Qualifications & Experience Required:

• Education:
• Master’s degree (MSc) in Transport Planning, Business Development, or a relevant field from an internationally recognized university.
• Professional Experience:
• Minimum 15 years of experience in the development and operational management of large-scale public transport systems.
• Direct involvement in at least two major projects involving the design and/or operation of high-capacity mass transit systems (e.g. inland waterways, metro, tram, monorail, BRT).
• Proven experience in working with projects funded by international financial institutions (IFIs), especially in developing country environments.
