Job Overview:


Candidate must be a Senior/Lead Pipeline Engineer with extensive experience in Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) for both brownfield and greenfield projects across offshore and onshore oil & gas facilities. The selected candidate will lead pipeline engineering efforts for an 8-month project, focusing on design and development for offshore processing facilities. Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of FEED, offshore pipeline engineering, and the specific complexities associated with both brownfield and greenfield projects.
  • Software Skills: Proficiency in industry-standard software for pipeline design and analysis (e.g., AutoPIPE, CAESAR II, or similar).

Senior Engineer, Process & Flow Assurance - Bintulu

Key Objectives

To provide advise and strategies for matters attaining to process, flow assurance, and integrity management. This involves supporting frontline operations by ensuring unrestricted flow in process, ensuring integrity of facilities is protected. To support offshore and Bintulu Onshore Receiving Facility (BORF) team with technical expertise relating to Process and Flow Assurance matters. This includes design and site implementation in any process related troubleshooting and optimization exercise for Sarawak asset. 


Accountabilities

  • To provide day to day operations support to PTTEP operating facilities. This position will focus on support for Sarawak offshore and onshore asset with assistance being given to future development/ fields as required. 
  • Coverage of process optimization, including topside process optimization from wells to pipeline, topside effluent and green house gas management, utility systems and any receiving terminal. Responsible for monitoring and improvement of process system performance and reliability. 
  • Plan, schedule, and provide work direction as required for any process troubleshooting and debottlenecking exercise of Sarawak offshore and onshore existing assets. Ensure that PTTEP operations production objectives set by asset are met and that constraint, operating problems that impact on these objectives are fully addressed. Responsible to carry out process calculations and/or process simulation using HYSYS or PIPESIM to address operational issues.
  • Manage minor studies / projects such as process modifications and performance monitoring etc. Provide supervision for external contractors/ consultants on process related matters if required.
  • Support Flow assurance issues pertaining to issue such as moisture, emulsions, sand, wax/ asphaltene, scales and slugging issues. 
  • Review and custodian to process drawing and documentations, such as P&ID, operating envelopes, and process simulation files. 
  • Provide process engineering advice for production facilities on operating (brownfield) development, acts as Technical Authority level actively managing risk whist display focus on simplicity and focus on the end goal.
  • Arrange/ facilitate/ participate design review, risk assessment and HAZOP studies associated to design changes for operating facilities. Participate and contribute to Fire Risk Assessment (FRAs), Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFAs), HAZID and SIL and other assessment to address process safety and reliability issues.
  • Provide technical support and input in Alarm management matters. Provide technical support for any changes to process safeguarding system and relevant documentations.
  • Responsible in end-to-end Management of Change process support relating to process system for operating asset. This includes initiation or provide process engineering review for the project until completion of work execution.
  • Keep abreast of current offshore and onshore production technology and when appropriate instigated the use of new technologies and ideas to PTTEP facilities.
  • Support technical safety in internal and external audit findings and any follow through until the actions are closed outs.
  • Reviewer of work packs, boundary isolation and participation in risk assessment, pre activity safety reviews (PASR) providing input and insight on Process and Flow Assurance matters. This includes during normal operations as well as turnaround and major equipment start-ups.


Requirements:

  • Minimum a degree in Chemical Engineering.
  • Proficiency to carry out Process engineering calculations and simulation skills with at least HYSYS and PIPESIM. Skill with OLGA is an added advantage. Proficient in industry and international standards relevant to Process Engineering and Process Safety.
  • In depth knowledge of oil field process and flow assurance, with minimum 10 years’ experience to cover both oil and gas upstream processing facilities.

  • Monitor and assess production processes, ensuring they meet quality and regulatory requirements.
  • Investigate any deviations in production or quality standards, and provide detailed reports.
  • Coordinate closely with the local team to facilitate smooth communication and uphold quality controls.
  • Support the implementation of corrective and preventive actions as needed to maintain compliance.

Qualifications:

  • Certified AOC QM 26 inspector with relevant experience in pump manufacturing or similar industries.
  • Strong background in quality inspection, preferably with experience in the Middle East or on-site inspections.
  • Ability to mobilize quickly and commit to residency in Saudi Arabia for the duration of the project.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
